Nestled along the scenic banks of the Colorado River with stunning views of the iconic Pennybacker Bridge, the club spans over 180 acres of beautiful hill country in Davenport Ranch, just 10 miles west of downtown Austin. Recognized as one of the oldest and finest clubs in Texas and the southern United States, Austin Country Club is renowned for its rich tradition, exceptional membership quality, and unmatched commitment to world-class customer service. The club's heritage includes being the home of Harvey Penick, one of the greatest golf instructors in history. This family-oriented environment fosters a culture of respect, support, and professional growth for all its team members.

We are actively seeking dedicated and hardworking baking professionals to join our hospitality team as full-time Bakers / Pastry Cooks. This role offers a competitive wage of $21 per hour and comes with an excellent benefits package. Full-time employees enjoy health insurance, paid time off (PTO), a 401(k) retirement plan featuring up to a 4% match after one year of employment, and life insurance. Additional benefits for the hospitality team include paid holidays, uniforms provided, free meals during working hours, and participation in wellness programs. The application process is designed to be user-friendly with a quick, mobile-optimized system. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-driven team dedicated to delivering outstanding experiences.

As a Baker / Pastry Cook at Austin Country Club, you will play a key role in creating a variety of baked goods and desserts from scratch, ensuring high-quality service to club members. You will prepare items such as mousses, custards, doughs, and sweet breads, completing prep lists while maintaining accurate inventory controls. This role demands meticulous portioning and presentation of pastries according to the club's standards. Beyond preparation, your duties also extend to stocking items for a la carte services and banquet events, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of your workstation, and ensuring all kitchen tools and equipment are inspected and functioning properly. Collaboration with the executive pastry chef to stay informed on assignments and anticipated business volume is essential.

This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for baking who thrive in a dynamic team environment and who are committed to upholding the club's tradition of excellence. The position requires excellent communication skills, punctuality, the ability to multitask effectively, and a strong sense of responsibility and pride in one’s craft. Candidates should feel empowered to contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen while continuously enhancing their culinary skills.
