Established in 2013, Olive & Finch Collective has expanded its reach into a diverse portfolio that includes restaurants, neighborhood cafés, a full-service bakeshop, a catering and events division, retail and grab-and-go operations, and multiple locations at Denver International Airport. At the heart of the company’s philosophy lies a people-first culture that promotes inclusive leadership, sustainable growth, and a dedication to nourishing both guests and team members. This approach has solidified Olive & Finch as a beloved and trusted name in the local food and hospitality scene, widely recognized for its quality and innovation.
The role of Overnight Baker at Olive & Finch is an integral part of bringing the company’s vision and culinary standards to life each morning. Working overnight from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM at the Olive & Finch Bakeshop and Commissary Kitchen, the Overnight Baker is responsible for preparing a variety of pastries, baked goods, and scratch-made items that are delivered daily to cafés and wholesale partners. This position offers full-time employment with an exempt status, and compensation ranges from $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about baking, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
As an Overnight Baker, the successful candidate will mix, proof, and bake croissants, muffins, cookies, and other high-quality baked goods while adhering to established recipes and production standards. The role requires careful attention to daily production sheets to ensure accurate quantities that meet demand across multiple outlets. Additionally, the baker will be responsible for proper labeling, cooling, and storing of baked products to maintain freshness and quality for next-day service. Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the bakery workspace is crucial, which includes cleaning ovens, mixers, and prep areas. The Overnight Baker will also monitor product quality and consistency, promptly addressing any issues related to ingredients or equipment with management. Food safety and sanitation standards must be strictly followed at all times.
Supportive team collaboration is a key component of this role, as the Overnight Baker will assist the pastry team with prep work for upcoming shifts and help meet daily and seasonal production demands. This in-depth involvement in the production process provides opportunities for skill enhancement and growth within a respected culinary collective. Overall, this position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a dynamic hospitality group committed to excellence, sustainability, and community engagement.
