Currently, Morrison Healthcare is seeking a full-time Baker to join the team at Miami Valley Hospital located in Dayton, Ohio. The Baker position offers a Monday through Friday work schedule from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, providing a stable and consistent routine without weekend hours. The role comes with a fixed pay rate of $16.00 per hour and welcomes candidates with previous baking and preparation experience, although training will be provided for the right individual. This position is ideal for those passionate about baking as a craft and motivated by the opportunity to make a difference through their culinary skills in a healthcare setting.

The Baker will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods including breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and pastries according to detailed recipes and production specifications. This role plays a critical part in meeting daily catering and production needs while maintaining food safety standards, sanitation, and quality control. The Baker will also assist with production planning, inventory management, and accurate record keeping to support efficient kitchen operations. Job Duties

  • Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
  • assist in production planning to meet daily requirements
  • ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment
  • assist with the completion of production records including waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages
  • inform supervisor when supplies are low
  • ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within the work area
  • handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service
  • clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area
  • keep display equipment clean and free of debris
  • interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and customer-service oriented manner
  • relay relevant concerns from customers directly to supervisors
  • consistently exhibit the ability to keep up with peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently
  • check to ensure that all food is presented, served and displayed per standards
  • follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment, ensuring corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed
  • complete shift work, as assigned, in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with department standards
  • perform other duties as assigned
