We are currently seeking a full-time Baker to join our team at the WPC location, 1080 San Mateo Avenue, South San Francisco, California. This role is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about baking and committed to producing high-quality baked goods. The position offers a fixed pay rate of $24.00 per hour and operates Monday through Friday from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm. As a Baker, you will prepare a broad range of baked products including breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and pastries according to established recipes and production specifications. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that all baked items meet the highest standards of quality, presentation, and food safety.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with other kitchen staff to plan and execute daily baking production. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate production records, including tracking waste, monitoring inventory levels, and communicating supply needs to supervisors. Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation is essential to uphold safety standards and comply with OSHA regulations. In addition, you will play a customer-facing role by engaging directly with customers, addressing any concerns, and ensuring an outstanding customer service experience.

The ideal candidate will have prior baking experience, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak production times. You will demonstrate strong organizational skills and a dedication to following standard operating procedures and safety protocols. Job Requirements

  • Prior baking experience is required

Job Duties

  • Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
  • assist in production planning to meet daily requirements
  • ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
  • assist with completion of production records including waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages
  • ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
  • handle food items appropriately with all safety regulations during preparation and service
  • clean equipment and workstations thoroughly before leaving the area
  • interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly manner
  • exhibit ability to keep up with peak production calmly and efficiently
  • follow principles of sanitation and safety ensuring corporate and OSHA standards are met
  • complete shift work timely and thoroughly
  • perform other duties as assigned
