The Baker position at Baylor University is a full-time role with a competitive pay range of $14.00 to $18.00 per hour. This role is pivotal within the baking and culinary team, tasked with preparing a variety of baked goods daily to meet campus dining and catering demands. The role requires seasoning, baking, and presenting breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries precisely according to established recipes and production specifications. Bakers must exhibit attention to detail, a capacity to manage peak production periods calmly and efficiently, and a commitment to food quality and safety.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with kitchen staff and supervisors, contributing to smooth production planning, handling inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards. Job Duties

  • Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per production and catering sheets
  • assist in production planning to meet daily requirements
  • ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and prescribed production standards
  • assist with completion of production records including waste tracking and product shortages
  • maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment and work area
  • handle food items according to safety regulations
  • clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving
  • interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly manner
  • ensure food presentation, quality, portion control and proper serving temperatures
  • follow principles of sanitation and safety in food handling and equipment use
  • complete shift work in timely and thorough manner
  • perform other duties as assigned
