The bakery department at Lowes Foods plays a crucial role in this customer-centric approach by offering fresh baked goods made daily to ensure product quality, freshness, and variety. The role within the bakery department focuses on delivering excellent guest services through various bakery activities such as baking, weighing, pricing, and decorating cakes. Employees in this position are responsible for maintaining high standards of sanitation in all bakery and sales areas and helping to keep products fresh and well-stocked throughout the day. Additionally, bakery associates often assist with front-end duties to ensure efficient customer flow, announce specials and promotions, and communicate any guest requests or issues to management.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time

Job Duties

  • Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests
  • Prepare product for sale including baking, weighing, and pricing
  • Maintain product level, quality, and freshness
  • Perform cake decorating as requested
  • Maintain sanitation standards in cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area
  • Communicate guest requests to management
  • Communicate temperature breakdowns to supervisor
  • Keep supply area neat, clean, and tidy
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management
  • Perform front end duties to ensure no noticeable wait standard
  • Announce specials and sale info on the PA system
  • Assist in product receiving and storage
