Job Description

Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drinks is a prominent dining establishment located in the Bower plaza of the Fenway area. This vibrant location houses three distinct concepts under ES Hospitality: Eastern Standard, Equal Measure, and Standard Italian. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous baking experience in a professional kitchen
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy ingredients
  • strong attention to detail
  • team player attitude

Job Qualifications

  • experience in artisan baking and pastry preparation
  • knowledge of classic baking techniques
  • familiarity with fresh milled flour and fermentation processes
  • experience making fresh pasta
  • ability to work in a high volume fast paced environment
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen

Job Duties

  • prepare produce and bake artisan breads enriched rolls and viennoiserie
  • set time and speed controls for mixing or blending machines according to instructions
  • accurately measure or weigh flour and other ingredients for batters doughs fillings and pastry creams
  • prepare garnishes as needed for baked goods
  • maintain adequate supply of all prepared products and ensure proper storage and refrigeration
  • keep food waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products
  • properly clean break down and store all baking equipment including ovens mixers proofer floors freezer and refrigerators
  • assist in pasta making as needed
