This job opening is for dedicated and responsible Baker & Service Team members who will play an integral part in the creation and delivery of Shipley’s famous do-nuts and kolaches. The role is ideally suited for early risers as it requires team members to arrive between 2:00 AM and 2:30 AM, enabling timely production and preparation for the day's business. Candidates should bring energy, creativity, and a strong sense of responsibility to the team, ensuring the products not only meet but exceed customer expectations. The role involves physically demanding tasks such as rolling, cutting, and baking specialty products, as well as cleaning large equipment like fryers and glazers.
Reliability and efficiency are paramount, as the shop operates in a fast-paced, high volume environment where teamwork and communication skills are essential for success. Employees will be expected to follow detailed recipes and both written and verbal instructions carefully to maintain the quality and consistency of their products. The position offers an opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively, fostering a positive workplace culture based on mutual support and respect. Although previous baking experience is not required, candidates must have keen attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly to operational procedures.
The role also demands physical stamina, such as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly to shoulder height. This ensures that team members can effectively manage the demands of preparing and handling large quantities of food products and maintaining equipment cleanliness throughout the shift. Shifts are available Monday through Friday and on weekends, requiring reliable early morning transportation.
