Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • dependable and reliable
  • able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • have outgoing and friendly behavior
  • positively interact with customers

  • able to take direction and work in a team
  • capable of answering phones and taking special orders
  • perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing
  • able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • physically able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously and for an 8-hour shift
  • capable of safely transferring trays and items of varying weights
  • adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
  • maintain a current Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitary standards of the bakery area and equipment
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • operate bakery equipment safely including knives and scales
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • adhere to all safety and health regulations including maintaining a Food Handlers permit
