The role of the Baker at Balloon Roof Baking Company is pivotal to maintaining the bakery’s high standards and ensuring that every baked item meets the quality and taste that customers expect. Bakers at Balloon Roof are responsible for a wide range of tasks including mixing, shaping, baking, and preparing bread varieties such as sourdough, bagels, focaccia, pastries, and various ready-to-eat items. This role requires a hands-on approach with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Bakers also share responsibility for maintaining clean and organized workstations, washing dishes, and supporting fellow team members in completing daily bakery tasks. Job Requirements

  • Professional baking experience in a fast paced or high volume setting
  • Must have a current Washington State Food Workers Card
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Requires weekend availability
  • Must be able to start work as early as 4am
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to support front of house operations
  • Good communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Work as a member of a team to ensure the completion of daily work and bakery cleanliness
  • Ensure that bakery items are baked, handled and stored in a manner consistent with Balloon Roof's standards
  • Maintain an organized, respectful, efficient and clean environment
  • Maintain safe kitchen practices with professional equipment
  • Support front of house and serving customers as needed
  • Mix, shape, and prepare various baked goods including bread, bagels, focaccia, pastries, and ready to eat items
  • Assist in dishwashing and general kitchen cleanup
