As a Baker at the Range Cafe, you will play an essential role in the overall guest experience by producing high-quality bakery products that align with the cafe's standards. Reporting directly to the Bakery Leader, you will be responsible for preparing bakery items in accordance with recipes and established procedures while maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards. This role is hands-on and involves working collaboratively with team members across different departments to ensure smooth operations and consistent product quality. Through comprehensive training, you will gain exposure to cross-team relationships and other roles within the cafe, helping to expand your skills and prepare you for potential leadership opportunities. The position demands attention to detail, a passion for delivering excellent food quality, and a commitment to upholding the Range Cafe's core values. You will be actively involved in maintaining proper stock levels, controlling waste, and ensuring bakery products meet taste and presentation expectations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred not required
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a bakery position or similar capacity
  • Ability to communicate clearly with leaders, team members and guests
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours
  • Willingness to follow company policies and sanitation practices

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred not required
  • Formal culinary or pastry education preferred not required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a bakery position preferred
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity required
  • Ability to communicate clearly with leaders, team members and guests
  • Working knowledge of the predominant language(s) of guests
  • Ability to utilize a sense of urgency and work at a fast and efficient pace
  • Ability to multitask and withstand high temperatures and pressure
  • Ability to work on feet for up to eight hours

Job Duties

  • Directly responsible for production of bakery products including preparation of products to set quality standards and following all recipes and procedures
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and sanitary work station
  • Ensure all bakery products are consistently prepared and served according to specifications, recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
  • Utilize tools and equipment according to Food Code Standards to maintain cleanliness and proper working conditions
  • Communicate with the Bakery Leader and management team to provide efficient production and proper quantity of bakery products
  • Follow proper product storage procedures, standardized recipes, and waste control procedures
  • Be knowledgeable and follow all company policies and procedures
  • Follow cleanliness and sanitation practices
  • Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points and maintain record keeping
  • Taste products regularly for proper flavor profile
  • Provide assistance throughout the restaurant as needed including off peak periods
  • Perform opening and closing duties according to store operation
  • Maintain open lines of communication between management and team members
  • Embody the core values of the Range Cafe and be an active team member in maintaining a positive culture
