The role of a Baker at Phillips Farms Market is a vital position that contributes directly to the farm’s customer experience and product offerings. As a baker, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing the daily baking list with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring every item meets the established quality and safety standards. This includes adhering closely to recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and managing inventory with precision. The position requires a hands-on approach to baking fresh goods and assisting in the preparation of scratch-made items, including baked goods and potentially homemade ice cream. Bakers will work closely with the Assistant Bakery Manager and the Farm Market General Manager, helping maintain a safe and organized kitchen environment while fostering a culture of teamwork and consistency.
Working primarily within the market’s kitchen, the baker will employ various kitchen tools and equipment while complying with all food safety regulations. The role demands physical stamina to handle tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds, handling hot items, and occasionally accessing high shelves via ladders. The work environment is indoor-centric but also involves movement to cooler and freezer spaces as needed. This role is not only about baking excellence but also about operational support, inventory management, and upholding the farm’s reputation for fresh, high-quality goods. Candidates should bring prior kitchen experience, be proficient in Spanish to communicate effectively, and be authorized to work in the United States.
