This particular role focuses on bakery department responsibilities within the Country Store. The successful candidate will serve as a key representative of the store’s commitment to excellence, handling interactions with guests and ensuring an attractive bakery case at all times. The primary duties involve managing the first 5 Moments of Magic, which include maintaining the bakery case with fresh products, keeping it well-stocked and visually pleasing, and using appropriate signage to highlight bakery items. This position demands a friendly and timely approach to guest service, with responsibilities extending to sampling products, assisting customers with bakery selections, and handling special orders. The role also includes cooperation with the Bakery Department Lead and other store staff to maintain a cohesive working environment.

Additionally, this position requires attention to cleanliness, orderliness, and inventory control within the bakery display and storage areas. The employee will document product transfers, waste, and spoilage accurately while following all health and safety guidelines. Physical demands of the job include standing, walking, stooping, and occasional lifting of bakery products up to 25 pounds. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, prior customer service experience, and excellent communication skills. Job Duties

  • ensure that the guest is the number 1 priority and that every guest is treated accordingly
  • manage the first 5 Moments of Magic including maintaining bakery case with fresh products, well-stocked and pleasing displays, appropriate signage, timely guest service, and inviting guests back with coupons
  • communicate with Bakery Department Lead
  • maintain a pleasant working relationship with entire Country Store staff
  • keep department cases and display areas stocked and products rotated according to standards
  • attend to counter to assist guests with product selection, packaging, questions and other requests
  • maintain department product displays and signage
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of work station and surrounding areas
  • sample department products to guests
  • take orders and place the orders appropriately
  • be aware of new products and their placement
  • maintain tidy storage and supply areas
  • document product transfers, waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • practice safe use of tools and equipment
  • wash dishes and utensils when necessary
  • slice and package bakery breads
  • follow all guidelines and procedures outlined in department and health and safety manuals
  • perform other duties as needed or assigned
