Job Description
Our establishment is a well-regarded bakery known for producing high-quality breads, pastries, and other baked goods. We are currently seeking a part-time Baker to join our experienced and dedicated team. This role is essential in supporting daily bakery operations, from preparing a variety of breads and pastries to maintaining and cleaning baking equipment. The Baker also plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the bakery following rigorous health guidelines. The position requires physical stamina to handle tasks involving lifting and moving products, handling bakery machinery, and maintaining the bakery’s overall organization. This is a hands-on position that demands a proactive attitude and a willingness to perform a variety of bakery-related duties under supervision.
The Baker will start each day by inspecting bakery machinery to identify any repair needs, promptly communicating with the Bakery Manager to address equipment concerns. Daily responsibilities include preparing baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards, as well as cleaning machinery and work areas at the end of each shift. The role also involves handling products physically by lifting boxes weighing between 20 and 60 pounds, moving products on carts or dollies, and maintaining a tidy and organized bakery environment by sweeping and managing debris.
Additionally, the Baker will be responsible for placing products in various bakery storage areas, such as coolers, proofing racks, and ovens, as well as arranging products for sale. This includes tasks that require bending, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, and climbing ladders to retrieve items from high shelves or coolers. The position requires adherence to strict handwashing and hygiene protocols, wearing proper headwear like hats or hairnets, and following state and federal health regulations to ensure the safety of both staff and customers.

Job Requirements
- Must obey all state and federal guidelines regarding health and safety policies
- Wear proper headwear such as hat or hairnet
- Wash hands frequently with hot water from elbows down for not less than 20 seconds
- Ability to lift boxes and products weighing between 20 and 60 pounds
- Physical capability to push or pull weights between 30 and 200 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level
- Must be able to climb ladders for retrieving products
- Willingness to work in varying temperatures including freezer, refrigerator, and ovens
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely
- Available to work part-time as scheduled

Job Duties
- Inspect machinery at beginning of day for potential repairs and report need for repairs to Bakery Manager
- Prepare breads, pastries, etc.
- Clean machinery at end of day
- Lift boxes and product ranging between 20 lbs up to 60 lbs
- Place boxes/product onto dolly or cart
- Push/pull between 30 lbs up to 200 lbs (items on cart/dolly)
- Bend/Stoop pick up and or place product below waist level (including shelves and racks)
- Place product onto bins and position for sale
- Grasp/Grip product to prepare for sales floor by either cutting or cleaning product
- Constant sweeping/pushing broom to pick up debris to keep work area clean
- Place and remove product from Bakery cooler, proofing, and ovens (including shelving and bakery bins)
- Reaching above shoulder level (produce placement on sales floor plus shelving/rack system in bakery warehouse areas)
- Place debris/trash/recycle cardboard in respective areas
- Will clean and maintain bakery tables and bins
