Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous baking experience preferred
Ability to follow detailed recipes and procedures
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
Good organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends
Basic computer skills for order entry

Job Qualifications

Proven baking skills
Experience with decorating cakes and pastries
Knowledge of FIFO inventory management
Understanding of bakery product standards
Experience with food safety protocols
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Capability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
Familiarity with using bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers, and sheeters

Job Duties

Produce our entire line of baked goods including quality cakes, cupcakes, cookies, biscotti and other production items as delegated by a manager
Ensure exceptional product by following recipes, understanding prep procedures, and maintaining raw materials quality
Make sure our baked goods are baked and decorated according to Carlos Bakery product standards
Keep up with pace of store and customer flow
Avoid overproduction during slow business weeks
Rotate product in freezer and walk-in using FIFO method
Understand proper use of all equipment including ovens, mixers, sheeters, scales, walk-in, and freezer
Maintain a clean production area
Clean and sanitize all equipment, work areas, containers and utensils
Be quick, accurate and organized
Respect your customers and co-workers space and time
Prepare special orders to ensure customer specifications are met
Make sure customers receive exceptional customer service at all times
Ensure operations are in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards
Greet, assist, provide efficient service and thank guests in a prompt, courteous, friendly and business-like manner to promote company image as a service-oriented operation
Guide front-of-house staff on product questions and offer assistance in finding or suggesting product selection to customers
Take specialty cake orders as requested by customers such as special occasion cakes and party platters
Enter all specialty cake sales information into Salesforce
Perform other duties as directed by a manager
