Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • able to lift and transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7 inches to 64 inches
  • able to lift and transfer items up to 40 lbs from 5 inches to 36 inches for distances up to 36 feet
  • adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, and pallet jacks
  • willing to work flexible schedules that change including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • outgoing and friendly behavior with positive attitude
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work in a team environment and take direction
  • capable of answering phones and taking special orders
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery area and equipment
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • operate bakery equipment safely including knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks
  • respond to customer inquiries, take special orders, and perform general housekeeping in the department
