Job Requirements
- be at least 18 years of age
- able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
- able to lift and transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7 inches to 64 inches
- able to lift and transfer items up to 40 lbs from 5 inches to 36 inches for distances up to 36 feet
- adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, and pallet jacks
- willing to work flexible schedules that change including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- outgoing and friendly behavior with positive attitude
- good communication skills
- ability to work in a team environment and take direction
- capable of answering phones and taking special orders
- knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery area and equipment
- stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
- receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
- operate bakery equipment safely including knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks
- respond to customer inquiries, take special orders, and perform general housekeeping in the department
