The role of Baker or "early-bird" on the oven is an essential part of the culinary team, requiring a love of early mornings and a passion for working behind the scenes to ensure freshly baked goods greet the day’s customers. This opportunity suits individuals who appreciate working independently and who are motivated to deliver consistency and quality in food preparation. The position is open to candidates with a background in food prep or baking, though The Works also welcomes passionate individuals without prior experience, offering paid training to develop the necessary skills. The primary work hours fall in the early morning, from 2:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., making it ideal for those who enjoy starting their workday well before most others and desire afternoons free for other pursuits.

As a baker at The Works, you will be responsible for efficiently preparing and baking the café's signature items, which include classic bagels, artisan breads, and various other baked goods. Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene is paramount in this role, alongside managing stock levels, performing regular inventory reviews, and organizing the preparation area to meet operational demands. The position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to follow instructions carefully, and the independence to plan and carry out tasks effectively. Weekend availability is necessary, and physical stamina is required to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently reaching, bending, balancing, and transporting ingredients and products throughout shifts. Job Duties
