Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a baker, pastry chef, or similar role in a restaurant or bakery environment
  • solid understanding of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
  • ability to follow recipes accurately and produce consistent results
  • creativity and passion for baking and desserts
  • excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • attention to detail, especially in presentation and quality control
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • formal training or certification in baking or pastry arts
  • experience with gluten-free, vegan, or other specialty baked goods
  • previous experience in a high-volume kitchen or restaurant setting

Job Duties

  • Prepare and bake bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other items according to recipes and restaurant standards
  • measure and mix ingredients to create doughs, batters, and other preparations
  • ensure all products are baked to perfection, with attention to texture, flavor, and presentation
  • monitor inventory of baking supplies and ingredients, and communicate needs to the kitchen manager
  • maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with food safety regulations
  • decorate and finish baked goods with icing, glaze, or other decorative touches as needed
  • collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of baked goods for service
  • stay up to date on baking trends and techniques to bring new ideas to the menu
  • ensure all items are consistently made to meet or exceed guest expectations
