Job Requirements

  • Must be able to provide a Food Handlers' Permit within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced commercial bakery environment
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
  • Must be able to work around hot surfaces, hot oil and mechanical parts
  • Ability to maintain clean and safe work environment
  • Good vision including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Job Qualifications

  • Prior bakery knowledge is a plus
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound reasoning and judgment

Job Duties

  • Calculate, measure and mix ingredients according to company recipes to form dough or batter, using electric mixer or beats and stirs ingredients by hand
  • Shape and cut dough for doughnuts
  • Responsible for the safe use of bakery equipment
  • Practice food safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Follow daily production sheets and keeps record of doughnuts made
  • Operate the fryer, including monitoring the temperature, draining, filtering and cleaning the equipment
  • Prepare icings and decorates doughnuts
  • Sort doughnuts according to production sheets
  • Oversee general quality of the products
  • Stock, store, carry and distribute bakery ingredients according to sanitation rules
  • Notifies supervisor and/or manager when inventory is low
  • Document doughnut discrepancies and notifies supervisor and/or manager in a timely manner of variance
  • Assess mechanical problems and notifies supervisor and/or manager
  • Clean bakery utensils, equipment, and work area
  • Ensure that bakery utensils are in acceptable working order
  • Notifies supervisor and/or manager immediately if utensils are damaged
  • Adhere to and reinforces Top Pot policies, procedures and training guidelines
  • Additional duties as assigned
