Job Requirements
- One year of commercial cake baking experience
- One year of commercial cake decorating experience
- Food Handler certification or ability to obtain
- Availability to work day shifts
- Ability to work in person
- Reliable and consistent work ethic
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Job Qualifications
- Experience baking and decorating a wide range of cakes
- Strong knowledge of cake structure, fillings, frostings, and finishing techniques
- Ability to work cleanly, efficiently, and with attention to detail
- Experience in a professional kitchen, bakery, or pastry environment preferred
- Ability to follow recipes and production standards consistently
- Food Handler certification required or ability to obtain
- Management-approved food safety standards must be followed at all times
Job Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of cakes and cake components
- Execute fillings, frostings, glazes, garnishes, and decorative finishes
- Assist with recipe preparation, scaling, mixing, baking, cooling, assembling, and finishing
- Maintain consistency in quality, flavor, and presentation
- Follow production schedules and prep lists
- Monitor freshness, quality, and inventory of ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and labeling procedures
- Assist with additional dessert or pastry production as needed
- Communicate with management regarding product levels, special orders, and operational needs
