The Baker position at Schlotzsky's corporate location is vital to maintaining the high standards for which the brand is known. Bakers are responsible for preparing baked goods, including breads and pizza crusts, which are baked fresh daily to meet strict quality guidelines for appearance and texture. This role requires a dedication to accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company recipes and health standards. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to operate certain bakery equipment
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
  • Must have multi-tasking skills to coordinate several tasks during baking process
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Capability to bend, stretch, kneel, and work in physically demanding conditions
  • Comfortable working around extremely hot equipment
  • Able to stand for the duration of the scheduled shift
  • Must follow all company policies and procedures
  • Arrive and depart according to uniform and grooming standards
  • Report to work timely for each scheduled shift

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous baking or food preparation experience is an asset
  • Ability to follow detailed recipe standards accurately
  • Basic math skills for measuring ingredients
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation standards including OSHA and SERVSAFE
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in product quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Bake batches according to the needs shown on daily PAR/BAKE ORDER sheets
  • Consistently produce a high quality bakery product
  • Be extremely accurate with weights and measurements for all recipe items
  • Keep workstation clean at all times
  • Properly clean all dishes and pans throughout shift (minimum 30 pans per day)
  • Assist managers in determining current and needed bread levels and bake sequence
  • Strictly adhere to all safety and health code requirements for the bakery including all OSHA and SERVSAFE guidelines
  • Complete all baking assignments in a timely manner
