The Baker role at Festival Foods is a part-time position located at the Eau Claire Birch Street store. This role is vital in delivering exceptional bakery products that enhance guests’ experiences during everyday shopping and special celebrations. Reporting directly to the Bakery Department Manager, the baker is responsible for meticulously following recipes and production schedules to ensure freshness, quality, and variety of bakery and pastry items. The baker will maintain clean and safe preparation areas, comply with health and safety guidelines, and provide outstanding guest service by assisting customers and addressing inquiries or special orders.

The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about baking and food quality, capable of thriving in a fast-paced retail environment, and dedicated to teamwork. This position requires flexibility to work varied shifts including early mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings or overnight shifts to meet bakery production needs. Physical demands include frequent standing, bending, lifting up to 60 pounds, and exposure to moving machinery and varying temperatures.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and production lists precisely to ensure high-quality bakery and pastry items
  • monitor dates and freshness, handle outdated items properly, and report shrinkage
  • adhere to all health department guidelines and Festival sanitation practices
  • maintain cleanliness and organization in prep areas, coolers, freezers, and dry storage
  • provide excellent customer service by assisting guests, taking special orders, and addressing concerns
  • keep an eye on stock levels and service floor needs, ensuring proper assortment and production levels
  • maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily
  • work closely with all bakery associates to meet department goals and support a positive team environment
  • regular, timely attendance and adequate notice for absences
  • perform other duties as assigned
