With a mix of 85 company-owned and 234 franchised restaurants, Perkins has built a strong reputation for offering delicious, homestyle meals alongside outstanding personalized service. The company's mission has consistently focused on providing guests with great value while ensuring 100% satisfaction on every visit. This commitment to quality and customer happiness has contributed to Perkins' long-standing success and growth, making it an attractive employer for individuals seeking career advancement in the food service industry.
Known for its friendly environment and dedication to employee development, Perkins offers numerous benefits and incentives designed to support its team members both professionally and personally. Employees can enjoy educational assistance through DeVry University, including a complimentary laptop, which extends even to immediate family members. The company also provides competitive pay complemented by service award incentives, the ability to get paid daily via the Daily Pay system, and comprehensive health benefits covering medical, dental, and vision care. With the inclusion of a 401(k) retirement savings plan featuring company matching contributions, flexible scheduling options, meal discounts, and an employee discount program, Perkins fosters a supportive workplace culture that encourages growth and work-life balance.
As a Baker at Perkins, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards that the brand is known for. This part-time position involves preparing a variety of baked goods, including pies, muffins, cookies, quiche, meatloaf, and ribs, adhering to established recipes and company procedures. Bakers are responsible for regulating oven temperatures, monitoring food safety to prevent foodborne illnesses, and ensuring the quality and presentation of all food items served. Your role will also involve using precise measurement techniques, shaping dough, and preparing baked items according to the bakery’s standards.
In addition to baking duties, you may be required during busy periods to assist with cooking tasks on steam kettles and the grill line. Maintaining cleanliness in your work area, managing your time efficiently, and consistently practicing good hygiene and proper uniform standards are all critical components of this role. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for cooking and baking who want to grow their career in a reputable restaurant setting with room for development through a clear career pathway.
Perkins' strong emphasis on employee training ensures that you will receive comprehensive orientation covering safety, sanitation, and customer service skills. This supportive learning environment is ideal for individuals looking to sharpen their culinary skills while enjoying a flexible work schedule paired with various employee perks. The company encourages communication skills and expects its Bakers to interact clearly and effectively with team members and patrons. Physical stamina and the ability to work under pressure during peak times are necessary attributes for success in this role, given the demands of working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Overall, joining Perkins not only means working for a respected brand with a proven track record but also becoming part of a community that values its staff and strives to create positive, rewarding employment experiences. Whether you are just starting your career or seeking to enhance your skillset in the culinary domain, Perkins offers the stability, benefits, and opportunities to help you succeed and grow.
