The Baker role at Nothing Bundt Cakes is essential to maintaining the bakery's reputation for high-quality products and superior customer satisfaction. Bakers follow strict proprietary recipes and production methods developed by NbC, ensuring consistency and excellence in every cake baked. This is a hands-on role that requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment. The Baker is responsible for producing a variety of cake flavors and sizes to meet daily production demands while strictly adhering to food safety standards and company policies.
In this role, the Baker effectively uses commercial-grade mixers, ovens, and other bakery tools to prepare and bake cakes. The position involves measuring and mixing ingredients, monitoring the baking process, and ensuring all cakes meet strict quality standards before packaging. The Baker also assists the Bakery Manager in planning production schedules and managing inventory of baking supplies to maintain smooth operations. Job Requirements
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
- previous experience as a Baker or in an operational support role at a bakery, restaurant or foodservice environment is a plus
- flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- adherence to health and safety standards and dress code
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
Job Qualifications
- Ability to understand written and oral directions, interpret instructional documents such as recipes, operating procedures, and health and safety rules
- understands basic units of measurement used in the U.S.
- ability to perform repetitious, physical tasks requiring strength to lift items up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- able to operate commercial-grade ovens and bakery equipment
- meticulous in using exact measurements, timing, and working on a fast-paced schedule
- can evaluate products, processes, and surroundings to ensure compliance with standards
- disciplined with strict adherence to health and safety practices
- diligent, organized, self-motivated, and able to operate independently with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Follows NbC proprietary recipes and cake production methods with precision and achieves productivity goals
- effectively utilizes measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers and ovens, and other tools to bake cakes
- accurately prepares raw ingredients and equipment for baking, places cake pans into hot oven and monitors the baking process
- adheres to the proper packaging, labeling, and storage of baked cakes as well as product rotation standards, and maintains baking and refrigeration logs
- assists Bakery Manager in the development of cake production plan, monitors inventory of baking supplies and notifies management when supply replenishment is required
- evaluates raw ingredients and baked cakes to ensure NbC standards are met and informs management of any quality control issues
- cleans, sanitizes and restocks the workstation and ensures all baking supplies are sufficiently prepared for the next shift
- complies with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene
- maintains a consistent work attendance and punctuality record
