Established in 1950, Dunkin' has grown into a market leader in categories such as hot regular, decaf, and flavored coffee alongside a vast range of bakery items including donuts, bagels, and muffins. With over 13,100 restaurants spread across 41 countries, Dunkin' continues to maintain a stronghold in the coffee and baked goods industry. The company is headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts, and operates as part of the Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc. family of companies. For 14 years in a row, Dunkin' has earned the No. 1 ranking for customer loyalty in the coffee category by Brand Keys, showcasing its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
The position available is for a Baker within the Dunkin' franchise, specifically responsible for the production and preparation of various bakery goods like donuts, munchkins, muffins, croissants, bagels, and other prep products needed for the restaurant. This role primarily involves overnight hours, typically from 8 pm to 5 am, although specific schedules may vary depending on the location. The baker is expected to work independently while meeting the production needs efficiently and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety in the bakery environment.
In this role, the baker’s responsibilities include managing the baking equipment such as ovens and production tools, preparing bakery display cases, and ensuring all food products meet safety and quality standards including proper date marking of products. The baker is also responsible for cleaning and maintaining all workstations, the freezer, the stock area, floors, walls, and all bakery-related facilities to uphold sanitation guidelines. The position demands physical stamina as it requires standing for extended periods, lifting items up to 30 pounds, and performing physical movements like bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
Dunkin' values qualities such as responsibility, punctuality, self-motivation, organization, and cleanliness in this role. The successful candidate must also be able to operate restaurant equipment safely, communicate effectively with team members, accept coaching and feedback positively, and follow brand recipes, standards, and safety regulations attentively. Working well under pressure and maintaining a resilient attitude are essential qualities for this position.
This job opportunity offers competitive pay ranging from $12 to $15 per hour, including potential bonus pay. Dunkin’ provides flexible scheduling to accommodate individual needs, paid on-the-job training, and significant growth potential with a commitment to promoting from within. Additional benefits feature free meals, employee discounts, medical benefits, and 401k plans with employer match, along with an employee referral cash incentive program. The position is offered both on a full-time and part-time basis with the location being onsite.
Overall, the baker role at Dunkin' is ideal for individuals passionate about bakery production who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment and desire to grow within a reputable and longstanding company. Dunkin's commitment to quality, brand standards, and employee development ensures a supportive and rewarding work experience in the food service industry.
