Job Requirements
- Ability to represent and support Big Y's culture of caring while living the mission and vision
- Support Big Y's diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives
- Proficient in baking and ordering for the entire sales areas of the bakery department
- Project a clean and professional appearance
- Ability to operate within company policies, procedures, and standards
- Willingness to cross train and learn other areas as needed
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the store
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in baking techniques and knowledge of bakery operations
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Flexible and adaptable to varying work schedules
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
Job Duties
- Prepare the freshest quality baked goods according to company standards
- Maintain department conditions including cleanliness and food safety standards
- Manage proper ordering and inventory levels for the bakery department
- Provide exceptional customer service with product knowledge and expertise
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards
- Cross train and learn other bakery areas as needed
- Work a flexible schedule to meet store needs
