Job Description
Polly's is a distinguished bakery known for its dedication to crafting high-quality baked goods that delight customers consistently. Established with a philosophy centered on freshness, friendliness, and exceeding guest expectations, Polly's has built a strong reputation in the food service industry. The company prides itself on maintaining the integrity of its brand through meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality in every product that comes out of its ovens. Polly's bakery products range from breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, to seasonal pies, each prepared with great passion and care by a team that values culinary craftsmanship. As a bakery that values tradition and innovation alike, Polly's employs bakers who are not just skilled but also passionate about their craft, ensuring that every item meets the highest standards of flavor, texture, and presentation. The brand's culture emphasizes a fresh approach to baking, friendly service, and going above and beyond in all aspects of its business operations.
The role of a baker at Polly's is integral to the company’s mission. Bakers at Polly's are expected to uphold the brand's standards by producing a wide variety of bakery items using established methods, precise portions, and strict recipe adherence. This role demands hands-on preparation of breads, rolls, breakfast items such as quiche and cinnamon rolls, and the daily preparation of seasonal fresh fruit toppings for pies. Beyond baking, bakers manage inventory carefully by labeling, organizing, and rotating ingredients and finished products to guarantee freshness and quality. They are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of their work area including ovens, mixers, workstations, and other kitchen tools that are too large for standard dishwashers. Effective communication with the coaching team regarding daily production counts and inventory needs is crucial to the seamless operation of the bakery. The position requires compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations across all baking and kitchen activities. Additionally, bakers must be flexible, ready to cross train in other kitchen functions, and able to work varied shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a role for individuals with at least one year of prior culinary or baking experience, who hold a clear understanding of kitchen safety and food handling protocols, and demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Embracing leadership qualities, self-motivation, and brand stewardship is essential to thriving at Polly's bakery, making this a rewarding opportunity for dedicated professionals looking to grow in a dynamic and quality-focused bakery environment.
