We are currently seeking energetic and friendly individuals to join our team in the role of Baker. This position is critical to the success of our bakery operation as the Baker is responsible for preparing a variety of bakery items, including yeast rolls, cakes, pies, specialty desserts, and freshly baked products that meet our strict standards of freshness, taste, appearance, and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for baking, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant setting. The Baker plays a key role not only in food production but also in maintaining our commitment to guest satisfaction by ensuring that all baked goods are fresh, visually appealing, and served timely. The role demands adherence to production guidelines, recipes, and health and safety standards, making it essential for the Baker to be organized, clean, and knowledgeable about food preparation procedures.

At Golden Corral, the Baker collaborates with other kitchen team members to ensure the bakery section runs smoothly, especially during peak hours and weekends when breakfast bakery items also require preparation. The Baker must be familiar with the buffet production system and capable of following the Bakery and Dessert Café Production Guide to maintain portion control and recipe yields. Additionally, the position emphasizes guest service by encouraging courteous interactions with patrons, assisting them with baked goods, and contributing to a positive dining experience.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Prepares hand-made yeast rolls, cakes, pies, specialty desserts and other baked items
  • Prepares breakfast bakery items on weekends to meet production needs
  • Completes use and follows the buffet production system to ensure quality and shelf life compliance
  • Ensures every product in the bakery is fresh, tasty, visually appealing and hot when appropriate
  • Maintains quality by preparing all products following Golden Corral recipes and standards
  • Maintains proper portioning and recipe yields
  • Follows the Bakery and Dessert Café Production Guide
  • Is friendly and courteous to guests and assists them with baked goods
  • Knows and follows position responsibilities related to just-in-time delivery
  • Performs duty roster and meets cleanliness, service, and quality standards
  • Follows local health department laws
