The role of the Baker within our franchise is vital to our operational success. The Baker is entrusted with the important responsibility of preparing a variety of freshly baked products including yeast rolls, cakes, pies, specialty desserts, and other bakery items that delight our customers. The position demands meticulous attention to freshness, speed, cleanliness, and organization throughout daily operations. Bakers must adhere strictly to all production guidelines and recipes outlined by Golden Corral to maintain consistency and quality in every baked good. Weekend availability is also important as breakfast bakery items need special preparation to meet production demands during those times.

In addition to food production, the Baker plays a key role in operational excellence by ensuring products are always fresh, visually appealing, and served at the appropriate temperature. Maintaining proper portioning and following recipe yields are essential duties to manage food costs and reduce waste. The Baker uses a buffet production system to guarantee quality and shelf life compliance.

Guest service is an integral part of the Baker's job. Bakers are expected to engage with guests in a friendly and courteous manner, assisting with any inquiries about baked goods, and ensuring a pleasant experience. Cleanliness and adherence to local health regulations are paramount. The Baker performs regular cleaning duties according to a specified duty roster and meets all service and quality standards to create a safe and inviting environment.

Compensation for the Baker position ranges from $11.00 to $15.00 per hour, reflecting experience and skill level. Job Duties

  • Prepares hand-made yeast rolls, cakes, pies, specialty desserts and other baked items
  • Prepares breakfast bakery items on weekends to meet production needs
  • Completes use and follows the buffet production system to ensure quality and shelf life compliance
  • Ensures that every product in the bakery is always fresh, tasty, visually appealing and hot, when appropriate
  • Maintains quality by preparing all products following Golden Corral recipes and standards
  • Maintains proper portioning and recipe yields
  • Follows the Bakery and Dessert Café Production Guide
  • Is friendly and courteous to guests and assists them with baked goods
  • Knows and follows position responsibilities as they relate to just-in-time delivery
  • Performs duty roster and meets cleanliness, service, and quality standards
  • Follows local health department laws
