Job Requirements
- be at least 18 years of age
- have a high school diploma or equivalent
- have 1-2 years of bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
- be dependable and reliable
- be able to work flexible schedules including night, weekends, and holidays
- demonstrate friendly and outgoing behavior
- possess good communication skills
- able to take direction and work in a team
- able to answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping and sanitation
- operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, and hand trucks
- be physically able to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- possess outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills
- have good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- ability to operate bakery equipment like knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, and hand trucks
- able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously and handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs safely
- maintain food safety and health standards including obtaining a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- assist the bakery manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery department and equipment
- stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy of bakery products while discarding outdated or spoiled items
- receive, inspect, and log bakery products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
- operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, and other tools as needed
- answer phones and take special customer orders
