Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Outgoing and friendly demeanor
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment
  • Physical stamina for standing and lifting as required
  • Food Handler's permit adherence
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Ability to handle customer special orders by phone

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrate dependability and reliability with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers
  • Possess good communication skills and ability to take direction and work as part of a team
  • Ability to manually operate bakery tools and equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle weight transfers as required
  • Must adhere to safety, health, and weights and measures regulations and maintain a Food Handler's permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide high-level customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, floors, and other surfaces
  • Stock, fill, face, and price bakery products while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • Receive, inspect, and log bakery product shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • Answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
