Job Requirements

  • must be at least 18 years old
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • over six months up to one year of related bakery experience
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • ability to perform stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • ability to use bakery equipment safely
  • ability to provide friendly customer service
  • willingness to adhere to company policies and dress guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • over six months up to one year of similar or related experience
  • ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
  • ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • aptitude for copying data, guiding people, and providing basic direction

Job Duties

  • provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
  • smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
  • makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name
  • assists customers by escorting them, securing products, loading/unloading heavy items, noting suggestions, and enhancing their shopping experience
  • answers telephone promptly and takes product orders
  • checks orders and sets production schedule
  • prepares, bakes, and fries all bakery products
  • reviews product freshness and pulls stale items
  • invoices and puts away product
  • anticipates product needs for current and future days
  • inspects incoming product quality and quantity
  • understands bakery equipment use and maintenance
  • checks signage for correct labels
  • reviews department for safety issues
  • acts as lead with bakery clerks
  • prioritizes orders
  • proofs items
  • pulls products from freezer or cooler
  • practices proper sanitation and maintains clean work area
  • adheres to company hygiene and dress guidelines
  • follows company policies and is punctual
  • orders supplies for the department
  • re-merchandises shelves and disposes of outdated products
  • writes department schedule and manages staff attendance
  • assists in other store areas as needed
  • performs other job related duties and special projects
