Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous baking experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Friendly attitude and team player mindset
- Ability to work independently and make decisions
- Proactive and urgent demeanor
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and move around the café
- Ability to lift and handle equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds
Job Duties
- Measure and mix ingredients to produce bakery products including bread and pastries using precise café standards
- Ensure correct quantities of baked goods are produced daily and plan production schedules with management
- Maintain baking environment by monitoring oven temperature and baking times and evaluating product quality
- Visually merchandise and display all products effectively
- Receive, store, proof, prepare and bake inventory to ensure product consistency
- Keep work area clean, organized and stocked and ensure proper sanitation
- Demonstrate hospitality, respect and friendliness towards guests and team members
- Resolve issues promptly and keep management informed
- Provide on-the-job training for new bakers as needed
- Perform prep, utility and backup duties
- Assist in café set up and maintain coffee, tea, oatmeal and soup stations
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned
