Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- over six months up to one year of similar or related experience
- ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently
- capability to perform physical activities such as stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- vision from more than 20 inches to less than 20 feet with or without correction, color vision, depth perception, and field of vision
- willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to flour, noise, temperature extremes, dampness, vibrations, equipment movement hazards, and cleaning chemicals
- ability to report to work on time and follow company policies and personal hygiene and dress guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- over six months up to one year of similar or related experience
- experience in baking or related food production is helpful
- ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- ability to guide and provide basic direction to others
- strong customer service and communication skills
Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
- smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
- make effort to learn customers' names and address them by name
- assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out of reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions, performing tasks to enhance shopping experience
- answer telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service including taking product orders
- check orders for the day and set up a timeline and production schedule
- prepare mix, bake, and fry all department products as needed
- review status and appearance of product for freshness and pull by stale date
- invoice and put away product as instructed by department manager
- anticipate product needs for current and subsequent days
- inspect incoming products quality and quantity
- understand use and issues related to bakery equipment and follow up on maintenance
- check signage for correct labels on ad items
- review department for potential safety issues
- operate as a lead with bakery clerks
- prioritize orders as per customer and department manager request
- proof necessary items
- pull product from freezer or cooler
- practice proper sanitation procedures and ensure work area cleanliness
- maintain adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
- adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines
- report to work when scheduled and on time
