Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous pastry cooking experience preferred
- ability to work full-time Monday through Friday from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm
- ability to comply with safety procedures including the use of gloves and proper lifting techniques
- willingness to work in accordance with company policies and procedures
- ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as required
- legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Previous pastry cooking experience preferred
- ability to follow recipes and production specifications accurately
- strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
- effective communication and customer service skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle peak production periods calmly and efficiently
- basic understanding of inventory and production record keeping
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area
Job Duties
- Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
- assist in production planning to meet daily requirements
- ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment
- assist with the completion of production records to include waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages
- inform supervisor when supplies are low
- ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
- handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service
- clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments
- keep display equipment clean and free of debris
- interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and customer-service oriented manner
- relay relevant concerns from customers directly to supervisors
- consistently exhibit the ability to keep up with peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently
- check to ensure that all food is presented, served and displayed per standards
- follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment, ensuring corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed
- complete shift work, as assigned, in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with department standards
- perform other duties as assigned
