Job Requirements

  • Must be able to provide a Food Handlers' Permit within 30 days of hire
  • ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • availability to stand regularly and frequently walk, use hands and arms, taste or smell
  • ability to occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear
  • ability to work safely around kitchen appliances such as deep fryers, mixers
  • attention to detail and ability to follow safety policies
  • willingness to work in a moderate noise environment and occasionally exposed to extreme heat

Job Qualifications

  • Prior bakery knowledge is a plus
  • basic computer skills
  • demonstrated ability to use sound reasoning and judgment

Job Duties

  • Calculate, measure and mix ingredients according to company recipes to form dough or batter using electric mixer or by hand
  • shape and cut dough for doughnuts
  • be responsible for the safe use of bakery equipment
  • practice food safety policies and procedures at all times
  • follow daily production sheets and keep record of doughnuts made
  • operate the fryer including monitoring temperature, draining, filtering and cleaning the equipment
  • prepare icings and decorate doughnuts
  • sort doughnuts according to production sheets
  • oversee general quality of products
  • stock, store, carry and distribute bakery ingredients according to sanitation rules and notify supervisor or manager when inventory is low
  • document doughnut discrepancies and notify supervisor or manager in a timely manner of variance
  • assess mechanical problems and notify supervisor or manager
  • clean bakery utensils, equipment and work area
  • ensure bakery utensils are in acceptable working order and notify supervisor or manager immediately if damaged
  • adhere to and reinforce company policies, procedures and training guidelines
  • perform additional duties as assigned
