The role of Baker 1 at El Super #500 is an essential position within the bakery department that involves preparing and baking a high volume of bakery products using standardized recipes. Reporting directly to the Bakery Manager, the Baker is responsible for executing various baking tasks that include mixing ingredients, shaping dough, monitoring baking processes, and ensuring finished products meet quality and presentation standards. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to keep up with the demand for fresh baked goods throughout the day. A strong work ethic and physical stamina are necessary since the job involves heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, walking, kneeling, and performing other physically demanding activities typical of a busy grocery store environment. In addition to baking duties, the Baker is tasked with maintaining a clean and sanitary work area to comply with food safety regulations and to provide a safe working space.
El Super #500 requires that all employees in food preparation and handling roles hold a valid Food Handler Card or an equivalent certification to ensure knowledge of proper food safety practices.
