As a Baker 1, the successful candidate will be an essential part of the culinary team, focusing on bread and pastry production. There is a clear emphasis on maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the kitchen by using and cleaning all equipment and utensils properly. The position also involves maintaining a sanitary and organized work environment, working closely with various staff to uphold food safety standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous baking experience preferred
  • Ability to achieve ServSafe certification within 90 days
  • Basic math skills including adding subtracting multiplying dividing and counting using whole numbers and fractions
  • Ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to interact with guests and team members professionally
  • Ability to work irregular hours including early mornings weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform duties in a demanding environment including lifting up to 50 pounds and using required PPE

Job Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous related baking experience preferred
  • Experience with scaling mixing proofing and baking breads and other baked goods preferred
  • Ability to achieve ServSafe certification within 90 days
  • Basic math skills including adding subtracting multiplying dividing and counting using whole numbers and fractions
  • Ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to interact with guests and team members professionally
  • Ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights early mornings weekends and holidays
  • Physically capable of performing duties in a fast paced environment requiring standing walking climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching and moving for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift carry push pull or move objects up to 50 pounds regularly

Job Duties

  • Perform basic baking duties including measuring and mixing ingredients to established recipes to make rolls muffins and basic yeasted breads
  • Use and clean all kitchen surfaces equipment and utensils including ovens mixers and knives safely
  • Maintain a safe sanitary and organized work environment working closely with Stewards at all times
  • Learn to perform more advanced baking duties and assist other members of the Pastry and Bread team
  • Assist in storing and rotating all inventories as needed
  • Perform opening and closing duties as needed
  • Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls policies procedures and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
