Job Requirements

Be dependable and reliable
Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
Ability to lift and transfer trays up to 5 lbs vertically and items up to 40 lbs vertically and horizontally
Adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
Maintain a Food Handlers permit
Be able to operate kitchen equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
Perform cleaning and sanitation of the bakery work area and equipment
Be able to answer phones and take special orders

Job Qualifications

Be at least 18 years of age
Have a high school diploma or equivalent
Have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
Possess good communication skills
Have an outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
Capable of working in a team environment

Job Duties

Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
Provide high level of customer service ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment
Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
Answer phones and take special orders
Perform general housekeeping tasks in the bakery department
