Job Description
Chick-fil-A, Inc. is a renowned fast-food restaurant chain specializing in chicken sandwiches and has become a household name across the United States. Founded in 1946 by S. Truett Cathy and his brother Ben, the company began as a small diner called The Dwarf Grill, later The Dwarf House, in Atlanta. The success of this diner paved the way for the creation of the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in 1967, located in Atlanta's Greenbriar Shopping Center. Over the decades, Chick-fil-A has experienced tremendous growth and is now recognized as the largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the US based on annual system-wide sales. It is proudly known as America's number one fast food restaurant, a testament to its quality food, excellent customer service, and strong community presence.
Chick-fil-A emphasizes a culture of care, respect, and development for its employees. The company operates through independent Operators who run individual restaurants and are dedicated to nurturing their teams with valuable life and business skills. This approach not only ensures the delivery of a high-quality dining experience to customers but also fosters team members' personal and professional growth. Chick-fil-A stores are closed on Sundays, reinforcing the company's commitment to giving employees time to rest and reconnect with family and community.
The Team Member role at Chick-fil-A is more than just a job – it is an opportunity to gain valuable life experience and build a foundation for future success. Chick-fil-A welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and ages, even those with no previous work experience, highlighting its inclusive hiring approach. As a Back of House (BOH) Team Member, the individual plays a crucial role in supporting the kitchen team by assembling food and drink orders promptly and accurately. The position requires working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and teammates alike.
The role develops a variety of skills including communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving, preparing team members for future leadership positions or other career paths. Employees gain an understanding of business operations by working directly with the independent Operator of the restaurant, providing invaluable insights into business ownership and management. Chick-fil-A’s commitment to competitive pay and a supportive work environment makes it an excellent place for young adults, students, and anyone looking to grow their career in the hospitality or food service industries.
Flexible scheduling is a key benefit of this role, allowing team members to balance work with personal commitments such as education, family, or sports. With an emphasis on maintaining a positive work-life balance, Chick-fil-A ensures employees have Sundays off and a team-oriented workplace where contributions are valued and recognized. This role is suited for individuals who thrive under pressure, have a willingness to learn, and possess the physical ability to handle kitchen tasks including lifting, maneuvering equipment, and responding quickly to order changes.
Becoming a Chick-fil-A Team Member offers not only competitive compensation but also access to a supportive community and opportunities for growth. It's a position that builds both character and skills in a welcoming environment dedicated to excellence in service and quality food preparation.
