Job Description

Chick-fil-A, Inc. has a rich history rooted in American fast-food culture, having been established by founder S. Truett Cathy in 1946. It all started with a small diner called The Dwarf Grill, which evolved into a pioneering fast-food chain that revolutionized the quick-service chicken restaurant market. The company opened its first Chick-fil-A restaurant in 1967 in the Greenbriar Shopping Center in Atlanta, and has since grown to become the largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the United States based on annual system-wide sales. Today, Chick-fil-A holds the distinguished title of America’s number one fast food restaurant, cherished for its high standards, delicious menu offerings, and outstanding customer service.

Chick-fil-A is well-known for its commitment to excellence, not only in its products but also in the work environment and career growth opportunities it offers its employees. The company prides itself on fostering a positive and respectful atmosphere where team members can thrive. One of its unique features is that all restaurants are independently operated by individual Operators who invest time and resources into developing their teams. This personalized approach ensures that every team member gains valuable business and interpersonal skills that extend beyond the restaurant floor.

The position of BOH (Back of House) Team Member at Chick-fil-A is more than just a typical job; it is a gateway to acquiring life and business skills in a supportive and dynamic setting. This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about teamwork, customer service, and being part of a thriving fast-paced environment. BOH Team Members are essential to kitchen operations, contributing significantly by assembling food and drink orders quickly and with precision. They support the front of house by ensuring accuracy and food quality, which directly impacts guest satisfaction.

Chick-fil-A values diversity and welcomes applicants from all ages and backgrounds. No prior experience is necessary, as the company provides comprehensive training to equip new team members with the knowledge and skills required to succeed. The company fosters a community-like environment, encouraging respect, teamwork, and personal growth. By working closely with the independent Operator, team members receive mentorship that can open doors to future career opportunities within the restaurant industry or beyond.

Additionally, the company respects the work-life balance of its employees, exemplified by the unique policy of closing all Chick-fil-A restaurants on Sundays, allowing team members to enjoy a day off every week. This thoughtful approach to scheduling includes flexible working hours, accommodating various personal commitments such as family, school, or sports.

The compensation package at Chick-fil-A is competitive, reflecting the company’s commitment to providing fair wages paired with a supportive and nurturing workplace culture. Employees can expect to work with cheerful, cooperative colleagues who share the goal of delivering outstanding guest experiences. Overall, the BOH Team Member role combines the opportunity for competitive pay, invaluable life skills, flexible scheduling, and being part of a reputable, fast-growing company recognized for its leadership in the fast-food industry.
