Job Description

Prime Hospitality Group, established in 2017, began with five Ruth’s Chris Steak House locations and rapidly expanded to become the largest franchisee of this renowned global brand, currently operating twelve locations. Over time, the group has diversified its portfolio by venturing into new food and beverage concepts as well as the hotel hospitality space, thus creating a dynamic collection of service-oriented brands committed to excellence. As an employer, Prime Hospitality Group is dedicated to fostering a workplace where team members are empowered to reach their full potential, supported by a culture of passion and shared values. The company tirelessly strives to provide unparalleled hospitality and memorable experiences to guests across all its brands.

The role available is for a Back of House (BOH) Key position at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, a flagship brand of Prime Hospitality Group that has been beloved for more than 50 years and is famous for delivering a signature, high-quality steakhouse experience. This position is pivotal in maintaining the restaurant’s mission to offer the best steakhouse dining, whether for intimate dinners or larger business gatherings. Reporting to the Executive Chef or General Manager, the BOH Key is responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating all kitchen activities, ensuring that all menu items are prepared and presented to exacting standards. The position may also involve assisting with inventory management, processing invoices, and handling supplies to ensure seamless kitchen operations. This leadership role demands adherence to safety and sanitation regulations, with a focus on maintaining health and safety practices to exceed local inspection standards.

Physical demands of the role are considerable, including lifting heavy items, standing for extended periods, and working in variable temperature environments from cold storage to hot kitchen conditions. Effective communication skills are essential for interaction with supervisors, co-workers, vendors, and guests, alongside the ability to taste and evaluate food items to ensure quality. The candidate must be comfortable with the fast-paced nature of restaurant operations and possess advanced knowledge of kitchen stations, equipment, and cooking techniques including baking, broiling, braising, frying, poaching, and smoking.

Required skills for this role include a high school diploma or GED, previous BOH food preparation experience, multitasking under pressure, flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays, and a mastery of kitchen operations. Attention to detail, collaboration, communication, decision-making abilities, financial understanding related to cost management, and strong leadership qualities are also key. The BOH Key serves as an inspirational leader who can motivate a team, resolve problems effectively, and contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Preferred candidates will hold Serv Safe certification, be authorized to work in the United States, and embrace the company’s commitment to equal opportunity and diversity. This role provides a gateway for career advancement within the hospitality and culinary fields at a respected and growing company dedicated to exceptional food, service, and employee growth. Joining Prime Hospitality Group means being part of a respected team known for delivering excellence and creating exceptional dining experiences for all guests.
