The current hiring event is for multiple back-of-house positions at Din Tai Fung's University Village location in Seattle, WA. The available roles include Cleaners, Dishwashers, Dumpling Prep, Kitchen Prep Associate - Apps, Wok Line Cook, and Noodle Line Cook. These positions offer competitive hourly wages ranging from $22.25 to $25.50 per hour. Each role plays a critical part in ensuring the overall efficiency and quality of the restaurant's operations. For example, Cleaners are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant, including restocking and sanitizing all areas such as the kitchen, dining room, restrooms, and storage. Dishwashers ensure that all dishes and kitchenware are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized using commercial equipment, supporting the kitchen staff’s ability to maintain a smooth workflow. The Dumpling Prep team prepares, assembles, folds, and steams the restaurant's signature dumplings in the show kitchen, where the culinary craft is both a vital part of the kitchen and a feature of the guest experience. The Kitchen Prep Associate works at various stations preparing beverages, plating appetizers, and packing takeout orders according to standard operating procedures. The Wok Line Cook and Noodle Line Cook are responsible for preparing authentic dishes with precision by following recipes, cook times, techniques, and plating standards to maintain the high-quality dining experience Din Tai Fung is known for.

Job Duties

  • clean and maintain all restaurant areas including restrooms, kitchen, dining, and storage
  • wash dishes using 3-compartment sink and commercial dishwasher
  • prepare, assemble, fold, and steam dumplings
  • prepare beverages at the Boba station
  • plate appetizers at the side station
  • pack takeout orders
  • prepare wok dishes following recipes and plating standards
  • cook and plate noodle line items
