The Aviation Area Manager role at ABM is critical in ensuring exceptional customer experience and operational excellence across multiple airports in the Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma City regions. This leadership position oversees janitorial, cabin, and passenger services, driving strategic initiatives that enhance service quality, cleanliness, and efficiency. The role demands a hands-on approach to managing daily operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, meeting budget objectives, and fostering a positive work culture among multiple teams. The Aviation Area Manager acts as a key liaison with airport authorities, airlines, and various stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and promote ABM's reputation within the aviation sector. The role includes responsibilities for team leadership, including coaching and developing managers and supervisors to uphold high standards and operational best practices. Crisis management and emergency response are integrated into the duties to ensure preparedness for any security or operational disruptions. This position requires frequent travel, flexibility in working hours, and a minimum of five years’ experience in aviation services management, with significant multi-site leadership exposure. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000, offering eligibility for the company’s 401(k) plan with matching contributions, along with a comprehensive benefits package that supports overall wellbeing and professional growth.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant aviation services management experience
  • At least 3 years managing multiple service sites
  • Proven leadership and organizational capabilities
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic operational plans
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma City regions
  • Flexibility to work extended hours including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Certifications related to aviation management or service quality preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in aviation services management
  • At least 3 years in a multi-site management role
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Professional certifications related to aviation management or service quality are highly desirable

Job Duties

  • Manage daily operations of janitorial, cabin, and passenger services across designated airports to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Implement operational strategies that enhance service quality and efficiency across all service areas
  • Ensure compliance with aviation industry regulations and standards, as well as company policies
  • Lead, coach, and mentor managers and supervisors in various service departments, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, manage staff development, and handle personnel decisions including hiring, promotion, and disciplinary actions
  • Serve as the primary liaison with airport authorities, airlines, and other stakeholders in the regions
  • Attend meetings, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong professional relationships to uphold the company’s interests and reputation
  • Develop and manage budgets for all areas of responsibility, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation
  • Monitor financial performance, initiate cost control measures, and prepare financial reports for senior management
  • Oversee the implementation of safety and quality control standards that meet or exceed regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Develop and enforce emergency response plans and procedures for handling operational disruptions or security incidents
  • Ensure all staff are trained in crisis response and risk management practices
