Job Description

The Hertz Corporation is a globally recognized leader in the car rental industry, operating prominent brands such as Hertz, Dollar Car Rental, and Thrifty Car Rental across approximately 9,700 corporate and franchise locations worldwide. With a presence spanning North America, Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, Hertz stands as one of the largest airport-based general-use vehicle rental companies globally. Known for its commitment to customer service and operational excellence, Hertz focuses on providing reliable and convenient transportation solutions to millions of travelers annually. As an employer, Hertz fosters a culture of diversity, inclusion, and integrity, emphasizing professionalism, transparency, and teamwork. They offer competitive wages, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career advancement, rewarding employees who demonstrate dedication and strong work performance.

This position is integral to the smooth operation of the Hertz vehicle fleet and sales lot. The role primarily involves controlling the flow of cars within the lot, conducting inventory management through checking and logging new vehicle arrivals, and updating the fleet computer system with accurate vehicle status information. The candidate will be responsible for lot merchandising, which includes ensuring all vehicles are front-line ready with proper pricing stickers, buyers guides, and frame plates clearly displayed. Maintaining an orderly and visually appealing sales lot by correctly parking and aligning cars is also a key aspect of the job.

In addition to these responsibilities, managing the back-overflow lot is essential, which involves shuttling vehicles to vendors, assisting with dealer trades, and occasionally transporting customers as needed. The position requires assisting with administrative tasks like maintaining the fuel log and generating reports requested by the Location Manager, including filing essential documentation promptly and accurately.

Applicants should be prepared to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the operational needs of the business. The role demands a valid driver's license, a minimum age of 20, and flexibility in scheduling. Internal candidates must have satisfactorily completed their probationary period and possess excellent attendance and job performance records.

Hertz offers a competitive hourly wage of $16.90 with eligibility for overtime pay in accordance with applicable laws and company approval. Employees are also eligible for holiday pay at 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked on designated holidays, up to 48 hours of sick pay, and paid time off/vacation including paid observed holidays and floating holidays. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision plans, retirement programs with 401(k) employer matching, paid parental leave, adoption assistance, educational reimbursement, voluntary insurance options, employee assistance programs, and various perks such as theme park tickets and gym discounts.

At Hertz, the commitment to doing business with integrity and fostering an inclusive environment is paramount. The company encourages all qualified individuals, regardless of their unique attributes, to apply and become part of the esteemed Hertz team.
