The Staff Management | SMX team located in Lafayette, Indiana, is actively hiring for the roles of Automotive Porter and Assembly Associates. This open position is full-time and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $19.50 per hour, commensurate with experience and specific job responsibilities. The working shifts include 1st Shift from Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 2nd Shift from Monday to Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. There is a potential for schedule adjustment to a 4x10 workweek depending on departmental needs. The Automotive Porter and Assembly Associate role involves a variety of hands-on tasks that support the processing, movement, and customization of vehicles within the company’s operational facilities. Employees will specialize in roles such as Vehicle Processors, Rail Processors, Ramp Installers, Drivers, Heavy Accessories Installers, and Light Accessory Installers. These roles require associates to inspect vehicles, prepare them for shipment, install interior and exterior accessories, and manage the safe movement and loading of vehicles using ramps and bridge plates. Associates will also be responsible for transporting vehicles within the terminal grounds in a safe, efficient manner.

Ideal candidates for these positions are mechanically inclined individuals who demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments. The work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions, requiring associates to be adaptable and physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds while adhering strictly to safety protocols.
