As part of its continued growth and leadership in collision and glass services, Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a dedicated Porter to join its dynamic team. The Porter plays a crucial role in complementing the quality repair services by ensuring customer vehicles are clean and well-maintained before delivery. This position also involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop and office facilities. A successful Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass will embody the company’s WOW (Wow Operating Way) philosophy by consistently delivering outstanding service and attention to detail.

The Porter’s responsibilities include pre-washing customer vehicles before repairs begin, performing thorough interior and exterior cleaning of vehicles after repairs, and transporting them to sublet locations when necessary. Additionally, the Porter maintains daily housekeeping tasks such as emptying garbage cans, sweeping, dusting, and disposing of unwanted vehicle parts to keep the facility and grounds neat and orderly. The role requires a hands-on approach and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform various physical tasks, and operate a motor vehicle safely.

This is an hourly position offering a competitive wage between $17 and $21 per hour, commensurate with skill, education, and experience. Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior office including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, and dusting countertops
  • maintain daily housekeeping of production area including waste disposal, sweeping floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and organizing tools and equipment
  • maintain parking lots and grounds neat and orderly including shoveling sidewalks if necessary
  • pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs
  • perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs
  • transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
