Powered by a diverse and dedicated team of individuals, Four Seasons fosters a culture of continuous self-improvement, mutual respect, and genuine care. This globally recognized hotel and resort company prides itself on creating remarkable experiences that leave lasting impressions on guests, residents, and partners. The team members at Four Seasons are integral in sustaining a world-class employee experience and an inclusive, supportive company culture, which in turn empowers them to provide authentic, heartfelt service. Four Seasons is more than just a name in hospitality; it represents a promise of excellence, a dedication to personalized service, and a profound respect for people and the environment in which they operate.
The role at Four Seasons' Napa Valley location is uniquely positioned in the heart of one of North America's premier wine countries. The resort is a landmark destination set amidst a stunning vineyard landscape, providing guests with unmatched views and a luxurious ambiance. This Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star property offers innovative, seasonal cuisine at its Michelin-starred restaurant, Auro. The resort pairs exceptional dining experiences with holistic spa treatments at Spa Talisa and personalized Four Seasons service, ensuring every guest's stay is memorable.
The position available is for an experienced cook who will work within the prestigious culinary team at Auro, led by Executive Chef Evan Neumann. This role requires preparation of all food items in accordance with Michelin-starred standards and production requirements, while adhering strictly to safety and sanitation guidelines. The ideal candidate will bring advanced culinary knowledge and practical skills to the dynamic kitchen environment, where excellence and attention to detail are paramount.
As a cook at Auro, you will be responsible for preparing food items consistently to the highest quality, ensuring adherence to recipe cards, portion sizes, and presentation standards. You will manage your mise en place and ensure your station is set up meticulously for dinner service. Proficiency in operating, maintaining, and cleaning various kitchen equipment including deep fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, and more is essential. The role also serves as a vital communication link between the kitchen line staff and management, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with culinary standards.
You will be expected to uphold strict food safety protocols by properly dating and rotating food containers, monitoring pars and inventory to avoid shortages, controlling food costs through waste management, and training fellow team members across various stations and skills. Additionally, you will participate in departmental ordering and comply with established workplace conduct and operational standards. This full-time role demands flexibility for various shifts, including weekends and holidays, and is critical to the seamless delivery of world-class dining experiences.
This position requires a high level of culinary expertise, ideally demonstrated by at least two years of experience in Michelin-starred or equivalent high-end restaurants. Formal culinary education or completion of cooking school is preferred. The role is not eligible for work sponsorship or visa, so candidates must possess valid U.S. work authorization.
Four Seasons values its employees by providing competitive hourly wages starting at $30.60, comprehensive medical and dental benefits through Cigna effective after 30 days, parental leave pay, extensive training and professional development opportunities, and exclusive perks such as complimentary accommodations at Four Seasons properties, employee meals, and retirement plan options. This commitment to employee well-being and growth is part of Four Seasons' broader dedication to fostering a supportive and empowering work environment.
