Job Requirements

  • must be able to sufficiently pass a criminal background check
  • must have a valid driver's license

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • strong professional background in computers and equipment used in an AV environment, including the operation of public address and/or audio recording systems
  • experience with electronic repair and hardware use
  • excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • ability to evaluate situations and make good judgements as to what actions to take when unexpected situations are encountered
  • able to work quickly, efficiently and independently
  • results-oriented, self-driven, proactive, and team player attitude
  • software expertise: windows, microsoft office, and adobe suite

Job Duties

  • work as the main AV contact for rental clients and schedules the use of in-house AV gear and the acquisition of rented gear
  • set up and monitor clients' AV needs during rental and other events at the Museum
  • operate and troubleshoot all of the Museum's technology-based exhibits during public hours and for after-hours events
  • assist the Curator of Exhibits for new exhibit installation and exhibit repair
  • assist the Facilities Team for Museum security-related technological issues
  • maintain records concerning the use and maintenance of AV exhibits
  • assist with digitizing and archiving the Museum's collection of video tapes, film reels, and other media and create projects for outside parties
  • record media broadcasts for use in exhibits and for archival lighting
  • serve as the lead for changing and maintenance of all exhibit purposes
  • work on in-house video and audio editing projects
  • assist the Senior Director of Technology and other Museum employees as directed
  • perform all other duties as assigned
