Job Description

The 2026 TEX Gala is a prestigious event presented by Choctaw Casinos & Resorts, benefiting the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. This gala is set to take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, offering an unforgettable evening that combines philanthropic efforts with high-energy entertainment and exclusive auction experiences. The event is centered around baseball and supporting community programs linked to the Texas Rangers, making it a standout gathering for sports enthusiasts and community supporters alike. Key highlights include a red-carpet arrival, a cocktail hour, a dinner served on the field, and live entertainment headlined by the renowned Zac Brown Band. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in live and silent auctions featuring unique Rangers experiences, autographed items, sports memorabilia, and much more.

We are currently seeking an Auction Event Assistant for the 2026 TEX Gala, a temporary and event-based position scheduled for Thursday, May 7, from 3 PM to 10 PM. This role is perfect for an outgoing and energetic individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced event environment and has a passion for engaging with guests. The Auction Event Assistant will directly support the auction portion of the gala, assisting with the setup and breakdown of auction displays, managing auction items, and interacting with attendees to encourage active bidding. This position will provide crucial support to ensure the success of both live and silent auctions by helping guests understand auction procedures and promoting participation. The role demands excellent communication skills, a friendly and welcoming demeanor, and an enthusiasm for sports and memorabilia. Responsibilities include assisting with loading and unloading auction materials, organizing and presenting items attractively, greeting guests warmly, explaining auction rules, and keeping the auction area organized throughout the event. The position requires physical stamina as it involves standing and walking for extended periods and lifting boxes or items weighing up to 30-40 pounds. The pay rate for this temporary role is $20 per hour. Job Requirements

  • able to stand and walk for extended periods during the event
  • able to lift and carry boxes/items generally up to about 30-40 lbs for set-up and breakdown

Job Qualifications

  • outgoing, friendly personality and comfortable approaching and speaking with guests
  • prior experience in events, customer service, sales, or hospitality is a plus
  • knowledge of sports and sports memorabilia, especially baseball, is a strong plus
  • able to stand and walk for extended periods during the event
  • able to lift and carry boxes/items generally up to about 30-40 lbs for set-up and breakdown
  • reliable and punctual
  • able to work the full event day on Thursday, May 7
  • age 21+ preferred

Job Duties

  • assist with loading and unloading auction items and supplies
  • help set up auction tables, displays, signage, and bid materials
  • ensure items are organized, labeled, and presented attractively
  • assist with packing and loading items and materials at the end of the event
  • greet guests in the auction area and provide a warm, welcoming presence
  • explain auction procedures, bidding rules, and item details to interested guests
  • proactively engage attendees and encourage them to view and bid on items
  • assist with monitoring bid sheets and/or mobile bidding
  • help spot and direct bidders during any live auction segments
  • answer basic questions about sports, teams, and memorabilia items
  • maintain a professional, friendly demeanor throughout the event
  • help keep the auction area tidy, organized, and guest-ready
  • coordinate with event and auction staff to ensure a smooth guest experience
